“Silvia shares her recipe for Ayote Tierno con Leche”

Silvia spent most of her life living in Costa Rica. She decided to move to the United States five years ago after hearing about the area from a family member, her husband’s cousin, who had previously moved from Costa Rica to New Hampshire. Before leaving Costa Rica, Silvia learned more about the New Hampshire area through online research and she shares that she ultimately decided to move here because it is a safe place to live and she liked the climate. Silvia is happy to have a family member from Costa Rica here with her and she is reminded of home when she cooks with peppers and corn. She is able to find the foods and spices that she enjoys cooking with in her local grocery stores. When Silvia was asked what she would like people to know about her former country of Costa Rica she said, “Tiene los mejores playas” which means, “They have the best beaches.”
